Arizona Central reports that Holly Shupe, a Special Education teacher at Burk Elementary School in Arizona, was delighted to get a Wishes for Teachers program grant this year and use it to purchase Reflex for her students. Reflex, a math fact fluency solution, “allows students to practice and review skills themselves.” Her self-contained classroom “has activities that are normally one-on-one or in very small groups. Oftentimes, there are more students than teachers available, so the classroom is split into stations that focus on various topics.”
Reflex “is a really important part of the classroom,” Shupe says. “It’s one of the stations, one of the things we do. It’s like having an extra body in the classroom and it really improves their math skills.”
