Gizmo of the Week: City Tour (Coordinates)

In the City Tour Gizmo, plotting points on a graph is introduced by having students navigate through a city with gridded streets and avenues. In each fictional city, students navigate either by clicking direction arrows or inputting distances. Over time, they see the connections between a location’s address (such as 2nd Ave. and 7th St.), its coordinates (2, 7), and how far you have to travel east and north to get there. Students can explore a variety of cities and hidden points of
interest in each city.
