Students can now “focus on the bigger skill or concept (area, perimeter, word problems, etc.)”

“Their confidence when it comes to facts is amazing. They are spending less time figuring out simple computation so they are able to focus on the bigger skill or concept (area, perimeter, word problems, etc.). I have a student with an IEP who came to me still using her fingers and a number line for simple addition. She is now working on multiplication! The students love to look at the fact pyramid¬†to see which facts they have become fluent in and which facts they still need to practice. Their motivation has sky-rocketed. They are progressing through their facts more quickly, and the automaticity is outstanding. We take weekly tests, and the students are constantly improving.”
